According to the Pennsylvania Code, training provided to CASA volunteers shall use a variety of instructors, including CASA program staff, attorneys, judges, agency representatives and volunteers. When scheduling pre-service training, consider the option of incorporating an additional day to host a guest speaker on a topic or a panel of active CASA volunteers to share about their experiences.

A committee charter outlines the purpose and objectives of the committee and details the goals of the committee. Committees are established by the bylaws and have no power or authority to act on behalf of the full board. Committees shall abide by the provisions outlined in the bylaws that pertain to the meetings and actions of the board. Having charters for committees is not a requirement for National CASA/GAL; however, having a Finance Committee is a requirement of the 2020 Standards for Local Programs.

Per National CASA/GAL standard, the agreement shall be reviewed at a minimum of every two (2) years.
Per National CASA/GAL standard, the agreement must be reviewed at least once every three (3) years to assess the need for updates, or when there is a change in the judicial leadership or changes in policy, law or local court rules or program resources that substantially impact the relationship between the program and the court.
